The women's fencing team last night fell to M.I.T., 10-6, in its first meet of the season, with two team members going 2 for 4 and a j.v. substitute, senior Gigi Baker, turning in a win

Characterizing the visitors' fencing style as "aggressive," senior Captain Lori McLaughlin said that in spite of the loss she thought the Crimson had done "very nice fencing." The hosts fell only six short in touches, where the Engineers triumphed, 62-56.

"We made mistakes, but the things we did well we did very well," she said, adding, "For the next meet we'll really be in great shape."
