The Harvard men's hockey team opens the 1984 regular season against a visiting Yale team tonight at Bright Center.
Game time is 7:30 p.m. for the sold out showdown, which will feature the return of United States Olympic star and Harvard junior Scott Fusco.
The Burlington, Mass. native should give the Crimson some of the scoring power it lacked last season, when it skated to a 10-14-3 overall record. Fusco led the 1982-83 Crimson to the National Collegiate Athletic Association final with a team-high 55 points.
Last year's scoring leader, senior Brian Busconi, had only 18 points. But teamed with Fusco, he could give the Elis fits.
Yale, meanwhile, brings a young squad--10 sophomores and 2 freshmen earned letters a year ago--that last year jelled from midseason on.
The Bulldogs finished 12-13-1 overall in 1983-84, posting an impressive 9-3-1 record from mid-January to season's end.
Yale shouldn't be too suprised tonight by the Fusco/Harvard style. Eli Coach Tim Taylor served as an assistant coach on the Olympic team that included Scott and brother Mark Fusco '83.
Standing room only tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Bright Center Ticket Office tonight.
