The Undergraduate Council got a record $51,443 in grant requests this year, so it stands to reason the amount of grants refused by the Finance Committee was also a record sum.

So expect fireworks at Sunday night's council meeting, as the scorned make their pitch to the full council.

Financial Committee Chairman Kenneth Shen '86 said the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, the Julio DeValle Memorial Fund and Jazz for Life are among the groups expected to show up.

"Any organization can come and argue its case," Shen said, but he added, "The offers we're making are the best we can do in light of our budget restraints."
