Penn Loves Sushi

A graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania and his wife are livening up late-night snacks for dozens of students.

Student Han Park and his wife Moonhee have started their own Oriental food delivery business, which offers fresh sushi and other delicacies, delivered to students' doors from 9 to 9.45 p.m. every night, Monday through Saturday.

Booming Business

Originally targeted at the university's population of Oriental students. Park says business has boomed, and he now supplies more than half of his food to Americans. As word of the Oriental delights has spread. Park has been able to expand into eateries in the local area. Nine local stores now sell his brand of Oriental food.

Like Bologna

The most popular dish, he says, is meat sushi, which seems particularly appetizing to nighttime studiers.

"The way you make it is to take nori, a sea vegetable, spread rice over it evenly, and then put on pickle, egg, spinach, carrot and beef. Then you roll it up like a carpet so that it's a long roll, like a bologna or something, and slice it so you can see the insides."

The sliced sushi exposes the insides which form a rainbow of colors from the multi colored fillings.

"It really looks very nice with all the pretty colors from the different foods." Park said. The Daily Pennsylvanian
