To the Editors of The Crimson:
I must congratulate both Diane M. Cardwell, on the editorial piece. "Style Over Substance" (5/13/83), and your staff. Ms. Cardwell's editorial was well written and informative. Rather than abrasively leaving her readers to feel pity for her or humored. Ms. Cardwell made valid points that encourage her readers to seriously evaluate her argument. I congratulate your staff on having selected this article to be printed within the formal confines of the paper--a reflection of wisdom, sound judgment, and GOOD TASTE! Also, in the edition on Thursday, May 12, the article. "Faculty Council Hears Minority Reps," by Michael J. Abramowitz and Holly A. Idelson, and Rebecca J. Joseph's "Black Yield Low Again This Year" demonstrates not only good reporting, but sympathetic understanding of the issues involved. All manner of praise and acclamation is in accord!!! L. Gerome Smith '84
