The Dartmouth Alumni Council has recommended the formation of an editorial advisory board for the Dartmouth alumni magazine in a confidential memorandum that will be presented to Dartmouth's Board of Trustees this month.
The recommendation comes after a winter-long investigation into the magazine's editorial policy following the resignation of its editor, Daniel Dinan. Dinan had claimed that he was being censored by the College administration on controversial stories.
"The establishment of an editorial advisory board makes a great deal of sense," Dartmouth President David McLaughlin, said last week. McLaughlin insisted, however, that he did not wish to exercise direct control over the magazine but wanted to bring its editor "within the information network of the College." The Daily Dartmouth
