Family, friends, and classmates of David S. Braverman '82 have established a fund in his memory to support the arts, particularly music.
Braverman, who graduated with the highest grade-point average in his class last year, and who was a first-year student at Yale Medical School, died last December. Police said they found him in the garage of his parents' home about five miles from New Haven and that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Chemistry concentrator graduated from the College summa cum laude. He was an accomplished pianist, who had participated in the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra and the Glee Club.
He was also active in Adams House, and his former dormitory is helping oversee the memorial fund. John Hildebidle, Adams House senior tutor, says that about $3000 has already been donated. He adds that the House will wait until House Master Robert Kiely returns from China in June before deciding how to use the funds, but that they will probably help pay for an Adams House resident to take music lessons.
Contributions may be sent to the David Steven Braverman Memorial Fund, % Pat Herrington, Adams House Office, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA 02138.
