"They were a lot better than us, "Co-Captain Frenesa Hall said about the Harvard women's basketball team's 68-46 loss to Northeastern last night at N.U. The hoopsters felt they played a solid game against the Huskies, but the Crimson suffered its fifth straight loss.

The first half of play both squads seemed equally matched on man-to-man defense. The Huskies gained momentum in the last two minutes of the period and carried a nine-point buffer into the second half.

The Crimson continued its solid play, getting inside scoring from center Elaine Holpuch, who put in seven points for the squad, and driving layups from guard Ann Scannell, who led Harvard with eight points. Co-Captain Pat Horne, recently back from a stress fracture, scored seven. But though the Crimson took good shots, it only hit 30 percent from the floor and seldom got more than one chance at the basket each time down the court.

Three players tallied 54 of the Huskies points. At 5-ft., 11-in., Kym Cameron could not be stopped, playing solid inside and shooting well outside for 22 points on the game. Pam Green and Desiree Clagon each hit 16 points.

Harvard stayed in the game until midway into the second half, when N.U. burst ahead, capitalizing on Crimson mistakes.
