Looking to finish the pre-winter break portion of the season at .500, the Harvard wrestling team yesterday took it to the University of Massachusetts at Amberst, 33-11.

"We expected to beat these guys," junior Co-Captain Barry Bausano said last night after pinning his opponent in the 177-lb. category.

At 150 pounds, Jeff Greenberg also executed a pin. Junior Co-Captain Sean Wallace, at 190, and sophomore heavyweight Kevin Wattles made the best of fortcits in their weight classes.

Freshman Mike Mead took the 118-lb. class, 8-7 at 134 pounds, junior Dan Medalie triumphed 8-7, and Dan LaVey snagged the 158-lb category, 7-1.

Harvard fell in three categories: at 126, Steve Beati got the short end of a 7-6 decision; Dave Ellen fell, 4-2, at 142, and Kevin McGinty lost 16-4 at 167.

The grapplers will be working out at home and with their high school teams, said a satisfied Bausano, adding that overall, "things weren't bad."
