To The Editors of The Crimson:
I was distressed to find that your otherwise good article on anti-gay discrimination at Harvard Real Estate ("Student Cities Housing Difficulties," May 3, 1982) actually mirrored the very discrimination it reported. By putting the word lover in quotes--as, for example,
...Trani was not affiliated with Harvard and was Ray's "lover,"
the Crimson suggests that it shares HRE's view of gay relationships as somehow less than genuine. Surely after 2 1/2 years together Ray and Trani deserve better. Next time leave off the quotes. Jonathan L. Handel '82 Vice President, Gay Students' Association
