Skimen Fall at Dartmouth

Weekend Roundup

By Jeffrey E. Seifert

The men's ski team found what the depths of depression could be over the weekend, when it sank to an undisputed last-place finish at the Dartmouth Winter Carnival, held at the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, N.H.

The skimen's moments were unquestionably dim--sophomore Albert Leger had Harvard's best showing with a 26th-place finish in she 15-km. cross country race, alpinist Jeff Donahue copped 34th out of 50 in the slalom, and captain David Rothman, in his first race after a back injury, claimed the Crimson's best showing in the giant slalom with his 43rd-out-of-50 finish.

The men's ski team will have a chance to regain its composure when it faces the same 10 NCAA Division I squads at the Williams College Carnival next week at Brodie Mountain in western Massachusetts.
