HARTFORD, Conn.--A faculty student committee at Trinity College recent recommended that the college's six fraternities and two sororities be eliminated. The Chronicle of Higher Education reported last week.
A college spokesperson said that after a year long study the committee had concluded that the appeal of the organizations had diminished over the year to point of irrelevance. About 15 percent of Trinity's 1700 student belong to the societies she added.
