Winthrop House turned back a determined Eliot squad, 14 8, and Kirkland knocked off previously unbeaten Soho, 18-12, in House football's opening round playoff games yesterday.
The two teams, sporting identical 4-1 records, will meet November 23 for the Harvard House championship.
Prior to that matchup, Winthrop will face Yale's top squad in the annual battle of intramural teams Winthrop earned the Harvard spot in next Friday's match-up by virtue of its early-season victory over K-Land.

But yesterday only Eliot was on the minds of Winthrop quarterback Charlie Slack and company Winthrop opened the scoring in the first quarter, when Slack found an open Cormac McLeod in the end zone When he hit Claudio Phillips for the two-point conversion Eliot found itself behind 8-0.
E-House tied the score just before half, as Andy St Pierre tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Eddie Kane.
But Slack put any hopes of an Eliot victory to rest when he scored on an Harvard run with seven minutes left to play.
K-Land, meanwhile, broke a 12 tie with just one minute left in its game, as Bob Sher lock hit Bernard Good win with a 50 yard strike.
"We don't anticipate too many problems with Winthrop," Kirkland Coach Bob Wade said looking forward to the re match.
