The spikers record which has been teetering around the 500 mark for the past three weeks now stands at 10-12.
Northeastern beat the spikers in two straight sets, 18-16, 15-7. "I think Northeastern's solid block at the net and hard hitters did us in." Coach Karen Altman said of the defeat. "They are not a team that is out of our league, but player for player matched up, they are definitely bigger and stronger,"
The Crimson defense did manage to shut off the middle biting attack of the Huskies Solid play and consistent serves kept the first set close throughout. But, after losing by such a tight margin, the Crimson had trouble regrouping.
"We have trouble getting our playing spirit back up after losing close matches." said center blacker Nina Henderson.
Against Brown the spikers had trouble playing consistently and maintaining the killer instinct needed to win. After losing the first set 15-10, the spikers settled in and began to play their game taking Brown on a 15-3 ride.
But the Brains who have been playing exceptionally well returned some of the Crimson's well placed spike and came back also by a 15-3 score. The Crimson seemed to just let go of the competition as its passing became inconsistent.
"A few things broke down in the last set." Altman said "But I'm not really disappointed with the way they've been playing. When you lose to good teams and play well. you can't be disappointed."
