The Cambridge School Committee last week instructed the superintendent to talk with "interested groups" about instituting a peace curriculum in the city's public schools.
Committee member Alice K. Wolf, the motion's sponsor, said at the meeting the curriculum should be designed "to wage peace in the nuclear age," adding yesterday that the curriculum would be for all the system's students.
Wolf said that while there are no specific plans for the proposed curriculum, it would deal with teaching children to analyze news and scientific information, discussions on morality, the history of past wars, and weapons development. She said the curriculum would be to teach students "to understand and analyze."
While the committee set no specific date for putting the program into operation. Wolf said elementary students could begin discussing moral issues at an early age, adding that the program would probably be run on a trial basis at first as soon as a curriculum is set up.
