Following complaints from students about the lack of an organized and accessible foreign study program, Brown last summer created a board of foreign study counselors consisting of 16 faculty members and administrators, charged with increasing interest in study abroad.
The committee received a $250,000 grant from the Donner Foundation, a New York family organization concerned with international relations and education. Most of the grant will be used for language instruction and courses on international subjects.
