CAPE CANAVERAL -- The prospect of rain threatened to postpone today's scheduled launch of the space Shuttle Columbia despite a perfect countdown through last night.

Officials said rain would delay the loading of fuel into the craft, which was scheduled to blast off at 7:30 a.m. today.
