Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
Senior split end Dirk Killen is a questionable starter for the 34th meeting of Harvard and Army tomorrow at Soldiers Field. Killen tore a muscle inside his rib cage last Saturday during Harvard's 33-19 loss to Holy Cross, an injury similar to the one that has sidelined wide receiver Paul Scheper since the first half of the Columbia game two weeks ago.
Scheper has been practicing this week, but the final decision on whether he will play or not will be made shortly before game time. "It's a day-by-day thing," Killen says of both his and Scheper's status.
The passing game will be especially valuable this weekend as Army has shown itself vulnerable to an air attack in the past. Last week, the Cadets squeaked past Brown, 23-17, despite nearly 100 fewer yards of total offense.
One hundred and seventy-two of Army's yards came from junior running back Gerald Walker, who carried 24 times, including a 26-yard touchdown. The Greenville, S.C. native also caught four passes from quarterback Jarryl Bennett.
Walker was named to the ECAC Division I-A Weekly Honor Roll along with Ivy Leaguers Rich Diana (Yale) and Hank Landers (Brown). Also named was John Andreoli of Holy Cross, who helped the Crusaders stop the Crimson last week with seven solo tackles, a quarterback sack and the blocked punt that put the Cross ahead to stay early in the fourth quarter.
