Eric Heiden won his third speed skating gold medal yesterday and Ingenar Stenmark of Sweden pulled out of his slump to win the giant slalom medal that has so long eluded him.

Heiden, now appearing unbeatable and on his way to an unprecedented five gold medals, has marked himself as one of the all time Olympic! greats.
