Three Gridders Earn All-Ivy; Smith Unanimous Soccer Pick

Harvard gridders Dave Cody, Chuck Durst and Rocky Delgadillo and booters Mike Smith and Mauro Keller-Sarmiento yesterday were named to the first-team All Ivy teams. Smith, a senior, was a unanimous selection.

The Crimson placed five players on the football second team and six more received honorable mention. Delgadillo, a defensive back, and Durst, a defensive tackle, Wednesday earned honorable mention in the Associated Press's All America balloting.

The players named to the second team are senior Mike Durgin, an offensive tackle, senior Orazio Larranzi, an offensive guard, senior Dave Otto, a defensive end, senior Bob Woolway, a linebacker, and junior defensive back Pete Coppinger.

Senior quarterback Brian Buckley, senior tight end Chuck Marshall, junior fullback Jim Callinan, sophomore flanker Ron Cuccia, senior defensive tackle Tim Palmer and senior safety Mike Jacobs earned honorable mention.

Durst won first-team All Ivy honors last year and was voted this year's most valuable Harvard player by his teammates. Delgadillo led the Ivies in interceptions with seven. Cody led the team in scoring with 45 points and finished his career with 69, fourth on the all-time list of Harvard kickers.

Smith, a senior midfielder, and Keller Sarmiento, a junior striker, placed second and third in Crimson team scoring with 13 and eight points, respectively.
