PROVIDENCE, R.I.--A small crowd of students presented skits and protested recruitment by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on the Brown University campus last week.

Issaac Walker, the CIA recruiter, said he was not seeking students to work in espionage but for more mundane research and analysis, especially in mathematics and engineering.
