The Harvard rugby club tallied ten tries and six conversions to destroy the University of Rhode Island, 52-3, here Saturday morning. With seven players scoring tries, the ruggers exhibited their most balanced attack of the season en route to their eighth consecutive victory.

Despite injuries to three scrum regulars, the Crimson overpowered and out-executed the big but often clumsy Rams. As second row "Doc" Halliday, nursing a hematoma on the knee, said from the sidelines, "URI plays 'intimidation rugby,' but our guys are not the types who are intimidated."

While the pack controlled the lineouts and set play, the back line had a field day. Leading scorer Charlie Bott began the onslaught with the first of two tries four minutes after the opening kickoff. Moments later, fly half Dave Miller executed a perfect "double dummy," faking twice before pitching to John Dorgan.

The senior wing then streaked around right end to tally the first of his three tries and effectively put the game out of reach, 12-0, just ten minutes into the contest. Ed Thompkins, Tim Endicott, Alec Montgomery, Tom Looney, and Kip McKenzie added tries to complete the romp.

THE NOTEBOOK: The Crimson has now scored 187 points, while giving up on 37 in its eight victories, including three shutouts.
