Streep and Alda Will Get Hasty Pudding's Awards

Actress Meryl Streep and actor Alan Alda have accepted the Hasty Pudding Theatricals' Woman and Man of the Year Awards.

Mimi Oka '81, the Pudding's publicity manager, confirmed the selection yesterday and will officially announce the awards today. The show's producers are "very pleased" and believe that Streep and Alda are a "timely choice," she said.

Another Opening

The parade and presentation of the woman's award will be February 13, and the man's award will be February 20, the opening night of this year's Pudding show, a Pudding source said yesterday.

Streep and Alda appeared together in the recent film, "The Seduction of Joe Tynan," written by Alda, who also stars in the TV series M*A*S*H." Streep, a Yale Drama School graduate and former student of Robert S. Brustein, artistic director of the Loeb, recently won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Kramer vs. Kramer."
