ROME--An earthquake here measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale killed five persons and left more than 1000 homeless yesterday

Art and restoration experts, after preliminary checks, reported no significant damage to the Leaning Tower, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, St. Peter's Basilica and other ancient buildings in Rome and the Vatican.
