A group of social scientists from China will visit Harvard on April 27, Patrick G. Maddox, director of external affairs for the Council on East Asian Studies, said yesterday.
Maddox said the group will stay until May 1, spending half of its time at Harvard and half at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Their visit is part of a month-long trip to the United States to learn about the social sciences here. The New York Times reported Sunday.
In addition to its Harvard visit, the group will go to other universities and hold meetings in New York and Washington, the article said. In Washington it will meet with a member of the National Security Council on the role of social science in policy planning.
Mary B. Bullock, a representative of the National Academy of Sciences, will host the delegation.
