Vote Yes

THE FIRST QUESTION on the Student Assembly poll this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday asks students whether they approve of political parties in the assembly. We urge students to vote yes on this question because the right of individuals to organize freely is fundamental in democratic society.

As even a casual observer cannot fail to recognize, the referendum question is aimed primarily at the Coalition for a Democratic University (CDU). Students who are opposed to the goals or tacties of the CDU should indicate their view at election time, but it would be dangerously amiss in voting for a blanket disapproval of political parties.
