Pudding Bomb Scare

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A bomb threat at the Hasty Pudding club early Sunday morning abruptly ended a large party given by members of this year's Hasty Pudding show.

At about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, an unidentified caller claimed there was a bomb in the Pudding club, a spokesman for University police said yesterday. Police evacuated and searched the building but found no bomb, the spokesman added.

Disappointed crashers may have been responsible for the call, Alan M. Zunamon '79, vice-president of Hasty Pudding Theatricals, said yesterday.

Although only members of the show and guests with tickets were supposed to be admitted, "too many people invited too many guests," Zunamon said, adding that 150-200 people attended the party and about 150 others were turned away.

W. Michael Cohrs '79, one of the show's producers, said yesterday he could think of no motive or particular reason for the threat. "It was just a prank--someone wanted to shut down the party we were having." Cohrs said.
