HSA Moves Offices

Harvard Student Agencies (HSA) completed its move to Thayer basement from its offices at 4 Holyoke Street last week.

"The new facility is 15 per cent larger, the rent is much less, and we like having Harvard as our landlord," David Cohen '80, new president of HSA, said yesterday.

HSA is paying to renovate the basement, which Cohen called "a real rat hole." HSA has installed new walls, replaced desks with counters, rerouted pipes and given the facility a paint job.

Cohen estimates the move's cost at $40-45,000.

"As long as we can use student labor we don't find anything expensive," Michael Cohrs '79, former HSA president, said yesterday.

Harvard Custodial Services, the former occupants of Thayer basement, has moved to the basement of Weld.

H. Phipps Hoffstot '79, vice-president of the Procellian Club, which owns the Holyoke Street property, declined to comment on plans for the space vacated by HSA.
