The Harvard wrestling team named Doug Mason '80 and Tony Cimmarusti '81 co-captains of the 1979-1980 squad.
Mason, a Lowell House resident majoring in East Asian Studies, said he was "honored and proud to be chosen a captain." The Baltimore native wrestled in the 158-1b weight class this season.
Mason, the sole junior on this year's team, enters his fourth season of varsity competition next year.

Johnny Lee '53, the team coach, praised him for his hard work and dedication and added that Mason would make an "excellent captain."
Cimmarusti, a 210-1b. linebacker on the football team when not wrestling in the 167-1b. weight class, received similar plaudits from his coach. Lee said the Winthrop House sophomore was a "hardy and peppy" competitor.
A recent recipient of the Henry Ames Award for most improved wrestler, Cimmarusti is the first Harvard underclass captain since his coach was so honored.
Jim Mulvihill '79, this year's co-captain said yesterday "They are a good balance. Their personalities mix well, and they will be able to get positive efforts from the way they think and from their dedication."
Both captains said that they needed a strong sense of leadership to prepare the team for next season. Mason mentioned weight training in particular, but noted that because wrestling was an individual sport, most of their leadership would involve encouragement and organizational skill.
