King Pushes Rise In Drinking Age

Speaking at the swearing in of his new registrar of motor vehicles, Gov. Ed King reaffirmed his campaign promise to raise the drinking age in Massachusetts to 21.

King said that by making it illegal for teenage drivers to drink, accident rates should drop throughout the state. The new motor vehicles head. Cambridge resident Richard E. McLaughlin, is a staunch supporter of the higher drinking age.
