Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
The Harvard men's swimming team will get a taste of international competition when it hosts the young but talented Dutch national team in a dual meet at Blodgett Pool tonight at 7:30.
The Dutch team, led by World Championship finalist Fred Eefting, should provide the undefeated Crimson with a much-needed challenge.
"Our guys are starting to tread the line between confidence and cockiness," Harvard coach Joe Bernal said yesterday of his squad's attitude after four easy prevacation wins.
"We need to stay sharp for the tough meets later in the season," he added, in obvious reference to next month's Eastern League showdown at Princeton.
Highlighting the meet will be a backstroke dual between Eefting and Crimson frosh sensation Ron Raikula, who finished 11th and 20th, respectively, on 1978's list of the world's best times.
The Dutch team also features sprint freestyler Remmie Schaap, breaststroker Ronald Hond, the team's only non-teenager, and distance freestyler Gerard Smit.
