Toronto's Rick Bosetti rapped a one-out single in the 12th inning to pace the Blue Jays to a 2-1 victory over the first-place Boston Red Sox last night.

Bill Campbell took the loss for the Sox, lowering his record to 2-4, Jesse Jefferson, now 3-5, went the distance for Toronto, picking up the win on a seven-hitter.

Campbell walked Johnson to lead off the 12th. Johnson moved over to third on a soft liner down the right field line by Luis Gomez that went for a double, and then scored on Bosetti's single to left.

Butch Hobson provided the only run for the Sox with a long shot over the centerfield fence in the fifth, his eighth homer of the year. John Mayberry tied it in the sixth with a sacrifice fly that scored Bob Bailor.
