Radcliffe College will select four centennial scholars in mid-May as "part of the effort to highlight what Radcliffe stands for and the students who represent that ideal," A. Simone Reagor, director of the Radcliffe Forum, said Monday.

Each centennial scholar will receive $500 from Radcliffe college. Two sophomore and two junior women will be selected.

Candidates, to be nominated by senior tutors, department heads and House masters, must show evidence of out-standing scholarship, leadership ability and contribution to the Harvard-Radcliffe community, Reagor said.

In addition, centennial scholars must show evidence of either contribution to social action activities, artistic ability and imagination, or extra-curricular activities, Reagor added.

As part of Radcliffe's centennial celebration, the four centennial scholars will march in the academic procession during the convocation ceremonies next September.
