A group of Winthrop House students is encouraging all people leaving the libraries at night to depart in groups to reduce the risk of criminal attack, Herbert W. Nolan '78, a member of the group said last night.

Nolan said he will put up posters this week asking students leaving the libraries to gather at the entrances on the hour and just before closing time at Lamont and Cabot libraries. Nolan said he would add more posters in other libraries if the project is successful.

Winthop House students decided to post the signs as a crime deterrent, following the rapes at Leverett House last fall.
