Rugby Vanquishes Powerhouse Green

The Harvard rugby team came up with a scrappy, physical effort on Saturday to stun Dartmouth by a score of 12-0 at Soldiers Field.

The Green came south with a reputation as the best rugby team in New England. Harvard had not beaten them in four years, but the Crimson was not going to concede this one.

"It was a brutal game," Harvard backfield captain Peter Hilton said yesterday. "It was the best rugby I've ever seen played on the East coast."

Hilton attributed much of the credit for the win to Sabin Willet, who played fly half for the first time in his life and scored two tries, accounting for eight points.

Walter Herbert tallied the rest of the Harvard scoring with a penalty kick from 25 yards out and a conversion after one of the tries.

The win moved the ruggers' record to 2-2.
