With election day approaching, Harvard student coordinators for the campaigns of Sen. Edward W. Brooke (R-Mass.) and Rep. Paul Tsongas have begun stepping up their activities on campus.

Clark K. Ervin, coordinator of Harvard Students for Brooke, said yesterday that his organization will finish tallying the results of a canvass designed to determine Harvard students' preferences in the upcoming election. The Massachusetts Students for Brooke is sponsoring the canvass state-wide to determine Brooke's support among student voters.

Harvard Students for Brooke has about 150 students actively involved in passing out campaign literature, working at Brooke's Boston headquarters, and soliciting support for their candidate.

The group has planned "Stand Up for Ed Brooke Week" for late October; during which they will intensify their informational and recruiting efforts.

Sara F. Brannan '80, and Daniel C. Esty '80, Harvard coordinators of the Tsongas for Senate campaign, yesterday detailed two upcoming events highlighting their candidate, including a "Pre-election Disco Mixer" for students from all Massachusetts colleges.

Tsongas, a graduate of Dartmouth, will also lead a motorcade this Saturday from Waltham to Cambridge, speaking at Brattle Square prior to attending the Harvard-Dartmouth football game.

Both groups helped organize a debate between the two candidates which is tentatively scheduled for next week.
