BOSTON--Howard Jarvis, author of California's Proposition 13, endorsed Democrat Edward J. King for governor last night, citing King's stand in favor of similar tax rollbacks in Massachusetts.
Speaking at a reception sponsored by the Citizens for Limited Taxation, King thanked Jarvis for the endorsement and reiterated his pledge to reduce property taxes by $500 million next year.
King is opposing Republican Frank W. Hatch '46 in the November election.
