Freshman proctors traditionally tell their charges they could be expunged for stealing books from the University's libraries. Nobody seems to have told Jeff Nelson, a graduate student in American History, that tale. Over the last year, Nelson allegedly has managed to remove over 3000 volumes from Widener and other libraries into his office in Van Serg Hall. A University decision on how to treat the case is expected this week.
