The precipitous shift in the weather Monday failed to unsettle officials responsible for the preparation of campus grounds for Commencement exercises.

Temperatures plummeted to a record low of 35 degrees, forcing the University to turn the heat back on in dorms and classrooms. Up to a foot of snow fell in areas of Boston, felling power lines and endangering the state's apple crop. If anything, however, personnel in the Department of Buildings and Grounds welcomed the snow.
