Sudanese Minister Comes to Harvard As Visiting Fellow

Jamal M. Ahmed, a former Sudanese foreign minister and an expert on African relations, will come to Harvard later this month as a Visiting Fellow, sources in the Committe of Middle Eastern studies said yesterday.

Ahmed will hold a joint appointment with the Committee on African Studies, the Center for International Affairs and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Barbro M. Ek, assistant to the director of the Committee of Middle Eastern Studies, said yesterday.

During his three-month stay at Harvard, Ahmed will give weekly seminars on Arab-African Relations that will study historical, cultural, political and religious questions.

Ahmed, currently director of the Arab League on Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, has written several books including "The Intellectual Origins of Egyptian Nationalism."
