Tuition: Still Rising

TUITION

By Joanne L. Kenen

Harvard graduate students will have to dig still deeper into their pockets next year, because tuitions across the board are rising once again.

Although the value of the University's endowment rose to $1.42 billion in 1975-76 and the University as a whole had a $900,000 surplus, energy expenditures and operating costs continue to rise because of inflation, officials said this week.

Although undergraduate tuition, room and board figures for next year are not yet available, Robert E. Kaufmann '62, assistant dean for finance and administration, predicted yesterday the increase will be smaller than last year's $500 fee boost.
