Epps Committee

By Michael A. Calabrese

The Committee on Race Relations at Harvard College met for the first time yesterday and spent most of its time devising ways to publicize the committee's actions.

Archie C. Epps III, dean of students and official spokesman for the committee, said yesterday the group would seek student input through ads and posters, public forums, personal appearances before the committee by selected individuals and the direct solicitation of letters and essays from students and faculty.

While the meeting concentrated on organizational matters, Epps also used the first meeting to assure minority student members that there would be a "completely open agenda."
