Freshmen Parents' Event Will Include Talks, Student Show

By Margaret A. Traub

The University will expand Parents' Day to a two-day visitors' weekend of panel discussions, historical slide presentations, tours of the Fogg Art Museum and student stage performances, the organizer of the weekend said Friday.

About 700 freshmen parents come to Harvard for the November 4th weekend, along with some 500 other visitors, Thomas A. Dingman '67, director of the Parents Association, said Friday.

Dingman said the association decided to expand the program to increase student participation and to provide an opportunity for parents to talk to administrators and other freshmen parents in panel discussions on undergraduate life, the curriculum and post-college opportunities.

Students will display "a potpourri of the arts at Harvard" at a program on Friday, November 4th, featuring the Kuumba Singers, the Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and student-produced films, Myra Mayman, coordinator for the arts at Harvard, said last week.
