The Harvard chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, a professional education association, will present a check for a $100 scholarship to the headmaster of Roxbury High School this morning.
The scholarship will be administered by the high school and awarded to the student who "best demonstrates scholarship, leadership and service," Mary Louise Van Winkle, president of the chapter, said yesterday.
Van Winkle said the chapter cannot afford to endow a permanent scholarship, but hopes to renew it annually.
The scholarship grows out of the Roxbury/Harvard project created under phase two of Federal Judge W. Arthur Garrity's integration plan. This plan pairs local universities with high schools in Boston.
