To the editors of The Crimson:

The story you ran on February 9 concerning the use of the Entertainment Funds in the Houses was full of confusion and misinformation. This was somewhat understandable, as it was based on information gathered in Sunday night phone calls. In an attempt to clear up the matter, I had an extended conversation with the article's author on Monday afternoon, and I gave him a copy of the letter setting forth the purpose of the Entertainment Fund. In the article run on February 11, the purpose of the Entertainment Fund is again distorted, this time with little excuse. In paraphrasing the text given to The Crimson, the words "House staffs" are substituted for the words "household staff," which is not a trivial change. As a minimum, I believe that The Crimson should print verbatum and in its entirety the second paragraph of the text that was given to them last Monday.
