Misquotation

To the Editors of the Crimson:

Allow me to go on record as assuring your readers that contrary to The Crimson's report (30/11/76) I did not use the expression "male chauvinist pigs" at a recent R-H Women's Center discussion. Many years ago I vowed never to fall back on that term in public or private; I have never done so; and while I have been known to employ the shorter form "pigs" with perhaps too great abandon, the aforementioned quote cannot be ascribed accurately to me.

The Crimson regrets having misquoted Laura Shapiro in the issue referred to in her letter. The remark attributed to here was the result of a reporting error, and we sincerely apologize to Ms. Shapiro and to our readers.   --The Editors
