To the Editors of The Crimson:

As a native of St. Louis, Missouri, I was shocked and dismayed upon my arrival in Cambridge three years ago at the incredible chauvinism and parochialism of Easterners. You pride yourselves on your amazing intellectual prowess, yet you have displayed a lack of knowledge of fourth-grade geography. In your article concerning election results you state that Carter won "without winning a single state west of the Mississippi River with the exception of Texas." Please, before the 1980 election, check the map for the location of the state of Missouri. Charlie Baum '77
