The Friends of Harvard Squash and Tennis held a testimonial dinner last night at Carey Cage for former varsity squash and tennis mentor Jack M. Barnaby '32, who coached more than 30 Crimson national championship teams before stepping down at the end of last season.
A team of past Harvard intercollegiate stars, groomed under Barnaby's tutelage, returned yesterday to play the current varsity squad, coached by David Fish. The alumni team was headed by Peter Briggs, the current national champion who recently turned pro.
Fish, who also played under Barnaby, called the ex-coach's career "43 years of great service to Harvard."
