Summer Student Commits Suicide In Stillman Fall

By James Cramer

A Harvard Summer School student committed suicide Saturday morning by jumping out of his fifth-floor room at Stillman Infirmary in Holyoke Center.

Robert Oppenheimer was pronounced dead on arrival at Cambridge City Hospital by Dr. George Hori.

Hori said yesterday Oppenheimer died from multiple fractures and a hemhorrage of the brain received from the fall. He said Oppenheimer's death was probably instantaneous.

Dr. Warren E.C. Wacker, director of the University Health Services, said yesterday that "precautions" were being taken with Oppenheimer at the time of his death. He declined to discuss the matter further.

Hori said Oppenheimer was under psychiatric care.
