In your article on transfer students (The Crimson, April 9), you quote a student, Griffith Marton, saying that he found a reluctance among his fellow students and staff to discuss such questions as the purpose of East Asian studies. As Grif Marton knows, there has been a special weekly colloquium in East Asian Studies to discuss precisely such questions. Mr. Marton has not once attended.
